5 Reasons You Should Hire a Designer (and why it’s WORTH IT)
SOMETIMES MAKING YOUR OWN DECISIONS IS HARD.
Like whether or not to eat the entire pizza. Other decisions are a little bit more permanent, (not as permanent as getting married or having a baby), but semi-permanent, like a new hair cut.
These semi-permanent decisions are the ones that a designer can help you with – why?
#1 – A DESIGNER IS NOT EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO YOUR HOME.
Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees. If you’ve been living with it for years, you might not realize how non-functional it really is, or how it is negatively impacting the way you use your home. Let your designer be a fresh set of eyes and new ideas to help you see the potential and fall in love with your space all over again.
#2 – A DESIGNER KNOWS THE ROPES.
Not to say you aren’t a natural Martha Stewart; but a designer can make the tiny tweaks that will change the way you actually live in your home. It’s truly the little things – a properly scaled layout, the correct distance between your appliances, and the proper durability in your chosen furniture upholstery so that grape juice, red wine and dog hair aren’t your enemy (you’ll feel freer than you ever have before to truly enjoy your home).
#3 – A DESIGNER WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY.
It’s my job and I love it. To get to know you, understand you and make decisions for you. By letting me handle this you won’t get caught up in costly mistakes like ordering the wrong faucet, buying the wrong sized rug or having a-country-of-a-couch delivered. You won’t have to drive to IKEA 18 times on a Saturday (okay, 3 times it was for the ice cream). Seriously – you’ll thank me later 🙂
#4 – A DESIGNER WILL MAKE IT EASY.
No idea where to start? No problem. Want colour but every time you try it looks like a rainbow barfed on your living room? Don’t worry. Love those awesome looking bachelor pads but you’re still sleeping under a sports duvet? It’s okay, I won’t tell. A good designer is there to HELP you, not tell you what to do.
#5 (LAST BUT NOT LEAST) – A DESIGNER WILL TAKE IT FROM 95 TO 100.
You may be pretty darn good at design, renovations and finishing touches BUT, two heads is always better than one (especially when one of those heads has seen and studied a lot of great [and not so great] ideas). You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the small tweaks that will make your space scream STUNNING, rather than just pretty good.
So please, don’t sweat the small stuff, and let me help you get the design results you’ve been dreaming of, (just finish the pizza, in other words – I always do).
